Taking the AP Lit exam was a very nerve wrecking experience for me because I wasn't completely sure that I was prepared for it. There was still a lot I personally needed to work on regarding articulating complexity in my essays and having an overall understanding of what the prompt is asking me to do. Even though I was very nervous going in, I felt very confident coming out of the exam. I think that I had a better understanding of certain things than I was giving myself credit for and I knew that all I can do is write the best that I can. I liked the prompts that were given although I felt like the prose passage was a little difficult to analyze because I felt like there wasn't a lot to analyze but I know I'm probably wrong about that and there was more I didn't see. Ii thought that the multiple choice was much easier than the past ones I've done in class and I was very thankful that I actually felt prepared. This exam helped me demonstrate everything I've learned in lit and everything that I am going to take away from the class. Learning how to articulate complexity and looking at poetry in a completely different way than I ever have. Even small things like learning what type of poem I'm reading! I also enjoyed the assignments that were given that involved great literature that I probably would have never read had I not taken this class. I'm so glad I finally got to read The Scarlet Letter and enjoy the craziness of Brave New World. I feel like I'm leaving this class as a better writer and a better reader and am glad to take some of the skills I have learned to college with me.
